BIG THINKS BIG, LOOKS INTO THE FUTURE, BUT ACTS LOCALLY IN THE NOW!
BIG is a non-profit foundation recognized as being of public utility, with the following tasks:
- to campaign for a better future and demonstrate that a better division of wealth and a sense of sharing are liable to contribute to a fulfillment of a more, just and more harmonious society,
- to influence the Swiss Romandy society to a more united community where there will be less poverty and exclusion,
- to develop and support innovative; concrete and applicable solutions, in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud, in order to fight against certain issues such as the isolation of elderly people, the environment, the over-indebtedness, the lack of education and exclusion…
- to identify and financially support local associations/ institutions which are active in bringing new concrete and relevant solutions to problems which have been identified.
Society is evolving, mentalities are changing, new technologies are advancing and yet certain issues are still here. BIG wants to be part of its direct environment, and in order to realize that processs it will have to bring its own vision and a new way to do things, deeply inspired by pragmatism from the business world. That’s why its actions – before anything else – are local and targeted subjects that could touch any citizen at any moment of their life, supported by values such as accountability, creativity, work, sharing, freedom, responsibility, efficiency, shared prosperity.
